Medication adherence, or taking medications as prescribed, is a critical factor in achieving positive health outcomes and reducing healthcare costs. A recent study published in Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy (JMCP)1 demonstrated that patients who adhered to erenumab for migraine prevention had lower reliance on rescue medications, reduced work absenteeism, and improved overall health outcomes. These findings reinforce the well-established principle that medication adherence is a key driver of better patient health and a more efficient healthcare system.
